This page sets out what iconvert.media collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers two things specifically, because those are the only two that collect anything: Google Analytics 4, and the contact form.
The contact form
If you write in, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. That is used to reply to you and nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not shared with third parties for marketing.
Submissions are stored in the website’s own database on the hosting server. If you would like your message and details deleted after we have dealt with your enquiry, ask and they will be removed.
Google Analytics 4
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and which are not. GA4 records:
- Pages you view, and how long you spend on them
- The page or search that referred you here
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address at city level
- Device, browser and operating system
GA4 anonymises IP addresses by default and does not store the full address. It sets a cookie to recognise repeat visits. We see this data in aggregate — reports about how many people read a page, not about you individually.
Google processes this data as our data processor, and their own terms apply to it. You can opt out entirely using Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies as described below.
Cookies used here
| Type | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes repeat visits so page counts are accurate |
| Functional | WordPress | Remembers form entries and comment details if you leave them |
| Affiliate | The retailer, not us | Credits a referral if you follow a link and buy. Governed by that retailer’s privacy policy |
You can block or delete any of these in your browser settings. Nothing on this site stops working if you do — no content is behind a cookie.
What happens when you click a retailer link
You leave this site and that retailer’s privacy policy takes over. We receive no information about what you looked at, what you bought, or your payment and delivery details — only, in aggregate, that a referral occurred.
Server logs
Like every web server, ours records requests as they arrive: IP address, timestamp, the page requested and the browser used. This exists for security and fault diagnosis, is not linked to analytics data, and is not used to build any profile of you.
How long things are kept
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Contact form submissions | As long as needed to handle the enquiry, then deleted on request |
| Google Analytics data | Per the retention setting in GA4, a maximum of 14 months |
| Comment details | Kept so follow-up replies can be recognised |
| Server logs | Short-term, per the hosting provider’s rotation |
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of any personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to analytics processing. Email [email protected] and it will be actioned.
If you are in the UK or EU, these rights come from the GDPR. If you are in California, similar rights come from the CCPA. Either way, ask and it will be dealt with — you do not need to cite a regulation.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has submitted information through the contact form, tell us and it will be deleted.
Security, honestly stated
The site runs over HTTPS and the software is kept updated. That is a reasonable standard, not a guarantee — no website can promise perfect security and we will not pretend otherwise. The practical protection is that very little is collected in the first place.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Adding a new tool that collects data means updating this page first.
